Description
The Liberty AV ARDVHD is a compact interseries adapter built to bridge legacy DVI-D video sources with the HDMI inputs found on nearly every modern display, projector, or switcher.
It converts a DVI-D single-link male connector to a full-size HDMI Type A female port, letting older laptops, desktops, and video sources with only a DVI output connect directly into HDMI-based AV infrastructure. This can be done without buying a separate converter box or active electronics.
The adapter is purely a passive connector shell, so it carries video signal only and doesn't require external power. At roughly 1.7" long, it's small enough to live permanently on the end of a cable run. It can also be tucked into a connectivity plate without adding noticeable bulk.
Liberty rates the ARDVHD for 1080p video pass-through, making it a practical fit for conference rooms, huddle spaces, classrooms, and boardrooms where legacy DVI-equipped laptops or PCs still need to feed an HDMI display or AV system.
Since, it's directly mechanical and signal adapter rather than a format converter, image quality is simply whatever the source device outputs, thus there's no scaling or processing happening inside the adapter itself.
Construction and Compatibility
The ARDVHD is PVC-coated and includes a molded eyelet, which lets it function two ways: as a standalone adapter on its own, or as one interchangeable adapter within Liberty AV's DigitalLinx DL-AR Digital Adapter Ring system, where multiple format adapters are grouped on a single keychain-style ring. This is great for techs who need to carry several connector types at once.
That dual-purpose design makes it a natural fit for AV integrators and IT staff who service multiple rooms with mixed legacy and modern video equipment.
The adapter comes backed by a 2-year manufacturer warranty.
