Description

The Liberty AV ARDPHD is a passive interseries adapter that converts a full-size DisplayPort male connector to an HDMI Type A female port. This adapter makes it possible for DisplayPort-equipped laptops and desktops to connect directly into HDMI displays, projectors, or switchers without an active converter box.

Since both the DisplayPort and HDMI carry embedded digital audio alongside video, the ARDPHD passes both signals through the same connection. This means that a single adapter handles the full AV feed rather than requiring a separate audio cable.

Liberty rates the adapter for 1080p video, making it a straightforward fit for standard conference room and boardroom displays rather than higher-bandwidth 4K applications.

At about 1.7" long, the adapter is compact enough to stay permanently attached to the end of a cable or live inside a table box or wall plate without adding noticeable bulk.

As a purely passive connector with no chipset or external power the signal quality depends entirely on the source device's own DisplayPort output. The ARDPHD simply re-routes the pins rather than processing or scaling the image.

Construction and Compatibility

The ARDPHD is PVC-coated and includes a molded eyelet on the HDMI side, letting it serve two roles: a standalone adapter used on its own, or one interchangeable piece within Liberty AV's DigitalLinx DL-AR Digital Adapter Ring system.

That flexibility makes it a practical stock item for AV integrators and IT staff supporting a mix of DisplayPort and HDMI equipment across different rooms. The adapter carries a 2-year manufacturer warranty and, unlike its DVI counterpart in the same product line, remains an active, non-discontinued part as of this writing.
