Description

The AVPro Edge AC-EX100-444-KIT is a point-to-point HDBaseT 3.0 extender that sends 4K60 4:4:4 video with HDR up to 100 meters (328 ft) over category cable, including Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HDR10+.

It is built on a new, highly integrated system-on-chip and is the first AVPro Edge extender to add eARC, while Ethernet is raised to 1 Gbps at the receiver.

A bandwidth-adaptable output is exclusive to this kit. It is designed for up to 18 Gbps of uncompressed video, but if existing cabling cannot carry that, a toggle switch enables AVPro Edge's Invisible Compression Technology (ICT) and reduces output bandwidth to 10.2 Gbps.

ICT is engineered to avoid banding, color wash-out and compression or motion artifacts, USB, eARC and LAN keep their native bandwidth when it is used. Latency is under 8 microseconds, measurable but not visible.

USB bandwidth has also been raised to 390 Mbps, which makes the kit a strong candidate for KVM. A computer connected by USB-A to the transmitter can be operated from up to 100 meters away with a keyboard and mouse plugged into the receiver. Design and Installation Notes

Why a category-cable kit? Manufactured HDMI cables cannot be cut to length on site, while category cable can be terminated by the installer, so a 100-meter run is practical. The AC-EX100-444-KIT builds on the earlier AC-EX100-444 platform with a new system-on-chip and is designed to be both future-forward and backward-compatible, with commercial and residential integrators in mind.
