Description
FSR's IPS-WP4Q-WHT is a four-gang wall plate from the company's Intelligent Plate Solutions line, configured with one IPS opening flanked by two Decora openings in a D-I-D arrangement. It exists to solve a problem that pre-built connector plates never quite solve i.e, no two rooms need exactly the same set of connections. However, ordering a fixed plate means either paying for connectors you don't use or discovering mid-install that you're one port short.
One IPS opening plus two Decora openings
The IPS approach separates the plate from the connectors. The single IPS opening accepts FSR's modular inserts, which span voice and data, control functions RJ-45, XLR, USB, HDMI, DVI, BNC, RCA and fiber among them, in both IDC and bulkhead configurations.
The two Decora openings take standard Decora-style snap-in modules, including FSR's own Simple Solutions series. The result is effectively unlimited combinations from a single plate part number, and a plate that can be reconfigured later without cutting drywall or reordering.
Construction is 1/4" thick milled aluminum rather than stamped steel or plastic, which is immediately apparent in the hand and matters over a plate's service life in a space where users push, pull and lean on connections daily. The white finish matches standard Decora device plates already on the wall, and the system works equally with active and passive interfaces.
Typical deployments include classrooms, conference rooms, boardrooms, hotels, hospitals and airports environments where the connection panel is both a functional element and a visible one. The plate ships with assembly hardware and carries a limited lifetime manufacturer warranty.
