Description
The Bose Professional PowerShareX PSX4804D is a four-channel, 4,800-watt adaptable power amplifier built for sound systems where channel count, load type and power distribution are decided by the room rather than by the amplifier's limitations. It is the higher-output member of the PowerShareX family, and the model most often specified where a single 1RU chassis needs to cover a demanding zone list.
Dynamic power sharing across four channels
Its defining capability is dynamic power sharing. Rather than forcing the designer to bridge channels or over-specify a larger amplifier to satisfy one heavy load, the PSX4804D allocates its total power pool across outputs either evenly or asymmetrically. There is 1,500W per channel at 2 ohm symmetrically, or up to 3,600W at 2 ohm on a single channel when the design demands it.
In practice this often reduces the number of amplifiers in a rack, which reduces rack space, circuit load, heat and commissioning time in equal measure.
The amplifier handles low-impedance loads at 2, 4 and 8 ohms as well as 70V and 100V distributed lines, so a single unit can serve a main room with a set of overflow or background zones without additional hardware.
Onboard DSP provides optimized Bose Professional loudspeaker presets alongside parametric EQ, crossovers and limiters, all configured through ControlSpace Designer software for tight integration with Bose processors, loudspeakers and controllers.
Signal I/O covers four analog line-level inputs plus four channels of Dante, with GPIO for remote control, 48 kHz/24-bit conversion and a fixed 2.5 ms latency that keeps system timing predictable.

Physically it occupies a single rack unit at 358mm deep and weighs 7.0 kg, plus its shallow enough for portable racks and constrained equipment closets.
