Description
The AVPro Edge AC-AEX-KIT is a professional audio extender that delivers uncompressed stereo audio up to 100 meters from the source over standard category cable. It accepts either analog L/R or optical digital (S/PDIF) input, selected with an input dipswitch, and outputs both analog and digital audio.
Digital audio can be stereo or multichannel up to 5.1 when carried as Dolby Digital or DTS. The kit works with any compatible RJ45 run of CAT5e or better.
It is built for the modern problem of smart-TV audio. When a customer wants to hear Netflix, Spotify or Disney+ from the TV's built-in apps through a distributed system. The kit brings that sound back to the head end for playback on an AVR and whole-home audio distribution.
AVPro Edge's Dual-Play function plays the audio on the analog and digital outputs simultaneously, giving you two active outputs for two separate audio systems.
Power over Cable (PoC) means only one side of the link needs power, because the other receives it through the cable. The proprietary UTP/STP interconnect is designed specifically for the extender to keep signal loss and interference to a minimum, and the small, durable chassis suits tight installs.
For eARC and Dolby Atmos return, use the AC-AEX-DEARC-KIT. If you need to reduce multichannel audio to stereo first, an AC-AVDM-V3 audio downmixer can do that.

Design and Installation Notes
Choosing an audio extender: the AC-AEX-KIT is the straightforward option for stereo L/R and S/PDIF audio, with analog and digital outputs active together. The AC-AEX-DEARC-KIT is the choice when a TV needs to return eARC audio, including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, to a central AVR. Both use a single category cable and can be powered from one end.
Typical Applications
Typical for homes, hospitality suites and meeting rooms where TV audio must reach a central amplifier or multiroom system. Browse more point-to-point audio extenders.
