Description

The Roland Pro A/V XS-84H is a multi-format 8x4 matrix switcher that is ideal from conference rooms to live events.  The most desired feature is the free XS-80H iPad app, this lets you take control of your XS switcher remotely.  You can switch video and audio inputs, volume levels, and change presets, names, icons, and much more.  The XS-80H Remote app is a users dream without the high cost of programming and purchasing a touch panel, the app can be downloaded here. USB WLAN adapter required and purchased separately.

The Roland XS-84H can handle both your digital and analog needs, choose any combination of 8 HDMI or 8 VGA inputs.  You can then output these via any combination of 4 HDMI or the 4 HDBaseT outputs, the HDBaseT can send your video, audio, and RS-232 up to 328' over Cat5e/6 cabling.  Each input can individually be scaled to your choice of resolution, each output can be in your chosen format.  Not only can you control the matrix via the iPad app but also RS-232, and the front panel.  The front control panel allows for complete control and the large LCD screen shows exactly that is happening with your distribution.  

The XS-84H also goes beyond just a standard matrix and features some very usable effects such as; cut, PIP, vertical and horizontal flip, and 90 degree rotation. Integrated EDID ensures that your displays get the correct resolution, seamless switching even with HDCP enabled happens within .2 seconds so there is no wait.  The XS-84H also provides 4K mode which means you can switch 4 video lines as a group.

The internal audio mixer enables switching and mixing of audio inputs with EQ and dynamics processing on every input. Audio mixes can be created from both analog audio inputs as well as embedded HDMI audio inputs. The resultant mix can be embedded back into the HDMI/HDBaseT output as well as analog audio outputs. Also included is 2 internal microphone inputs with ducking that allows you to have the mic automatically mixed above the other inputs.  Audio follows video capabilities are also available enabling audio switching coordinated with video switching. Each audio output has a 4-band equalizer, gate, compressor and delay for proper lip-sync. It also features down-mixing function which makes output to a ceiling speaker possible.

The switcher features internal memory for still images, you can now switch to that image or use that image in standby mode when no inputs are connected.  Multi mode is ideal for conferencing which allows you to have two windows in one screen.  Cross dissolve transition allows for preview sizing guide for confident operation for live events.
