Description
The Middle Atlantic WRK-40-32LRD is a 40RU gangable rack enclosure built for large-scale data, AV, and IT installations where multiple racks need to sit as a unified multibay lineup and not as traditional separate standalone cabinets.
"Gangable" construction means adjacent WRK units can be bolted together into a continuous row. This approach helps with sharing structural connections between bays rather than each rack standing alone with its own full set of side panels.
The configuration ships as "LRD," or less rear door, meaning the enclosure comes without a rear access panel, typically chosen for installs against a wall or in a row where rear access isn't needed. It can also work in locations where an integrator plans to add their own rear door or leave the back open for cabling.
At 32" of overall depth (30.75" usable) and a 24.25" overall width, the WRK-40-32LRD is built extra-wide to leave dedicated space alongside the 19" EIA-compliant equipment rails to run side cable or airflow, rather than forcing cables and gear into the same narrow channel.
Standard front and rear 10-32 threaded rackrail includes numbered rack spaces for straightforward equipment placement, and slotted rail brackets in addition integrated lacing points keep cable runs organized as the rack fills up.
Construction and Load Capacity
Built from fully welded steel in the USA, the WRK-40-32LRD carries a UL-rated static load capacity of 2,500 lbs, a total weight capacity of 10,000 lbs, and a 900 lb seismic load rating certified to ASCE 7-10 figures. This puts it well into heavy-duty data center and central equipment room territory rather than light commercial use.
It's UL Listed, TAA compliant, and manufactured under Green Circle, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 certifications, at 76.13" tall and roughly 158 lbs for the enclosure itself before equipment is installed.
