Middle Atlantic SFR-20-18
20SP(35)18D SWING FRAME RACK
-Chad R.
Description
Some rack-mounted gear simply doesn't fit in a shallow enclosure, deeper amplifiers, DSP processors, or multi-unit switches need more than 12" of mounting depth. This is the gap the Middle Atlantic SFR-20-18 is built to fill.
The 18"-deep version of Middle Atlantic's SFR open swing frame wall rack, provides installers 20 rack spaces (35" of usable rack height) with enough depth to house bulkier commercial AV and networking equipment while still swinging fully out from the wall for service.
The hinged frame pivots on a 90-degree arc with a positive stop, exposing the entire rear of the installed equipment for cabling, patching, and termination work without detaching the rack from the wall.
Similiar to the rest of the SFR line, the frame is invertible, so the swing direction can be set to open from either the left or right depending on how the room is laid out or what's mounted nearby.
The extra 6" of depth over the SFR-20-12 doesn't change the weight rating: both share a 100 lb load capacity, so the added depth is about accommodating physically larger equipment rather than heavier equipment.
Standard 10-32 tapped rack rails run the full 19" rack width, keeping the unit compatible with the same broad range of 19" rack-mount gear as the rest of the series.
Construction and Installation
The SFR-20-18 is built from steel with a black finish, sized for permanent wall installation in network closets, AV equipment rooms, and technology cabinets where deeper gear needs to be mounted without sacrificing rear serviceability.
The SFR-20-18 ships flat for on-site assembly and includes 50 rack-mounting screws so the rack can be populated right away. Backed by Middle Atlantic's manufacturer warranty, it's positioned for commercial and institutional installs where durability and long-term reliability matter as much as the swing-out access itself.
