Description
The Middle Atlantic SFR-20-12 is a 20U open swing frame wall rack designed to solve a common integration problem. It provides technicians with full rear access to rack-mounted equipment in wall-mount installations where there's no room to walk around the rack.
Instead of a fixed, closed-back cabinet, the SFR-20-12 uses a hinged frame built on pivot points. This means that the entire 19" rack swings out from the wall on a 90-degree arc with a positive stop, exposing the back of every mounted device for cabling, patching, or service.
The accessibility is made possible without pulling the rack off the wall. The frame is invertible and can be configured to swing open from either the left or the right side, letting installers orient the door swing to match the rooms layout, adjacent walls, or existing infrastructure.
At 20 spaces (35" of usable rack height) and 12" of usable depth, the SFR-20-12 is sized for lighter-duty gear such as patch panels, network switches, hubs, and small AV processors. This makes it far better than a deep server or amplifier chassis.
Permanently lubricated bushings keep the swing action smooth over repeated use and help prevent frame sag as the rack ages. Plus there are abundant tie points and cable pass-throughs across the frame support clean cable management even with the rack in motion.
Construction and Installation
Built from rugged steel and finished in black powder it is coated for durability and cleanliness reasons. The SFR-20-12 ships flat for on-site assembly, including 50 rack screws and hook-and-loop cable fasteners to get a rack up and running immediately.
Standard 10-32 threaded rack rails ensure compatibility with the vast majority of 19" rack-mount equipment.
The unit is backed by Middle Atlantic's Lifetime Limited Warranty, reflecting its intended use in permanent commercial and institutional installations such as network closets, AV equipment rooms, and secured technology cabinets.
