Description
The 2TMD9125OS2PU is a fiber cable reel from Cleerline’s SSF 2TMD Tactical Micro Distribution Cable series. The cables from this range are designed for rugged, temporary, or field-deployable applications that meet the requirements of military, emergency response, large venue events, and active construction sites. Its design features several strengthening parts, such as Kevlar, that protect the cable from damage due to pulling and crushing. The cable is also further reinforced with water-blocking technology that is incorporated to make installation safe in more demanding environments. Combined with the Polyurethane jacket, which is a tough, flexible, abrasion-resistant, chemical and oil-resistant, and low-temperature jacket material, it is the cable of choice for professional use in rugged environments.
The 2TMD9125OS2PU reel is made of duplex cable that is it contains two strands of OS2 single-mode fiber (9/125 μm), and features approximately 1,000 feet or 305 meters of cable length. Given the long length of the cable, the fiber type used for its construction meets the ITU-T G. 652.D standards for long-distance and high-bandwidth applications. The cable has low attenuation, so it supports long-distance optical transmission, making it ideal for runs of several kilometers when multiple reels are spliced or connected through patching.
The fiber technology used to construct the cable is SSF, also called the Strong Smart Fiber, which is Cleerline's proprietary reduced-diameter fiber technology. It has a smaller bend radius compared to a standard 250µm fiber, which allows better flexibility and routing in tighter spaces.
The sturdy reel-style packaging allows for easy cable deployment and storage using manual reel stands or mechanized cable reel dispensers.
