Wi-Fi Connectivity Best Practices The new ISR-4 and ISR-2 are Wi-Fi-based remote controllers operating on the 2.4GHz frequency. They feature a low-power IoT instant-connect Wi-Fi module, ensuring near-instantaneous network connectivity while maximizing battery life. The ISRs support connecting to a single SSID for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, including access points with band-steering. However, with certain networking brands, band-steering may require the ISRs to be directed to the 2.4GHz band and potentially restricted from accessing the 5GHz band. If connectivity issues arise with a dual-band SSID, best practice is to disable band-steering or configure a fixed 2.4GHz connection to the desired access point.
