AtlasIED FB4-XLRF
Microphone Outlet Floor Box
Description
The AtlasIED FB4-XLRF is a recessed floor box built to bring microphone connectivity directly into a stage, platform, or studio floor without the need to route cables across it.
It houses four female XLR connectors, slant-loaded into the enclosure at an angle that fully accommodates a standard XLR connector's shell this keeps the connection secure, preventing strain on the cable when it exits the floor.
Rear-side terminals allow the box to be hardwired back to a control room, front-of-house mix position, or stage box, making it a permanent installation point rather than a temporary patch solution.
A hinged steel cover protects the four connectors when they're not in use, and the cover includes cable pass-through slots so microphones can stay connected and cables can route out through the closed lid. This way there is no need to prop it open, a detail on a stage or platform where the box gets walked on and needs to close flush and remain closed.
That combination of a protective steel lid and slant-loaded connectors is aimed specifically at performance environments like theaters, houses of worship, recording studio live rooms. However, it can work anywhere a raised platform or stage requires microphone inputs to be available at floor level without a visible cable tangle running to a wall plate.
