Description
The Hall Research EMX-HD-AUD is an HDMI audio extractor/de-embedder, it pulls the embedded audio from the HDMI so you can send it to an audio source such as an amplifier. The unit also acts as an HDMI pass through/booster with an an HDMI output allowing you to extend your signal an additional 30' on the output if needed. The extractor can learn and Emulate EDID from any display and download to your device, it can also upload desired EDID to the device.
The audio de-embedder features both digital (Toslink) and two channel stereo analog audio outputs and can extract the audio with out without a display attached. LED lights indicate HDMI status and mode, the unit supports HDCP, HDMI deep color, and 3D pass through. The EMX-HD-AUD is an HDMI transceiver, so it not only re-clocks the video data, it also separates and buffers the DDC channel on which EDID and HDCP are communicated. This can often resolve system-level HDMI signal-chain issues since the EMX-HD-AUD acts as an intelligent intermediary.
The unit is typically only powered from the HDMI input, however a power supply is included if needed. The power supply gets plugged into the USB, when a computer is plugged into the USB the device is powered from the computer.
